Greek cuisine ranks no1

Now we could sit here all cocky with puffed-up chests and be proud of our national cuisine and the achievement that Greek cuisine ranks no1.

But to be honest we expected it at some point to happen, as people move through cycles just like with fashion, food products, and more, in the end, we notice over the years that back basics always win!

Greek cuisine is after all the foundation of Mediterranean eating, olive oils and olives have always been at the top of the pyramid and with just cause. Here are some facts to consider that support the above:

  • extra virgin olive oil is a fruit juice! Yes just like orange juice, the difference is its components like elocanthine, polyphenols, and omega 3,6 and lots of omega 9 give it the fattiness to look like an oil, so why have seed oils when you can have a tasty healthy juice?
  • Olives as well give us fiber and flavour and if you eat GAEA olives in a pouch that are non-pasteurized you also get healthy bacteria for your gut that increase your serotonin levels.
  • Greek cuisine is Ancient since the Roman times Greek cuisine was already considered ancient, let that sink in for a second….. so we have had a long time in figuring out how to make healthy produce taste yummy and desirable!

A few dishes that make up a tasty yet healthy Greek are Horta, fava, lentils, fresh Greek salad (the real version) feta cheese (rated the healthiest cheese in the world and now one of the top 5 tastiest)  Briam, and many more that you can find on our website.

But over all what makes Greek cuisine not only tasty but healthy is that we eat everything but in moderation since antiquity, I guess what you newbies call fancifully “flexitarian”

And before I sign off with that’s all you need never forget the basic principle.

  1. Eat seasonally
  2. Shop freshly
  3. Cook with love and passion
  4. Move as much as you can
  5. Eat nourishing varietal  produce
